These terms govern your use of the BMF Professional Designation & CPD Platform (the “platform”), operated by the Black Management Forum (“BMF”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms.

1. Your account
- Provide accurate, complete information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your sign-in details confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
2. Designation applications
- All information and documents you submit must be true, complete and your own.
- BMF may verify your information with institutions, employers and references.
- Applications are assessed in line with the BMF Designation Conferment Process. Decisions of the Designations Committee are final, subject to any appeal process BMF publishes.
- Providing false or misleading information may lead to rejection of an application or revocation of a designation.
3. Fees and payment
Fees are shown before you pay and are processed securely by PayFast. Refunds are handled according to BMF’s fee and refund policy.
4. Keeping your designation
- Designated professionals must meet the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements for each cycle and renew their designation when due.
- You must comply with the BMF Code of Conduct.
- BMF may suspend or revoke a designation for non-compliance with CPD requirements, a breach of the Code of Conduct, or false information.
5. Certificates and the public register
Certificates and registration numbers are issued by BMF and may be used only while your designation is active. Your designation status is shown on the public register, as described in our Privacy & POPIA Notice.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
- Do not try to access other people’s information, bypass security, or interfere with the platform.
- Do not upload malicious software or content you are not entitled to share.
- Assessors and committee members must keep application information confidential and use it only for assessment.
7. Intellectual property
The platform, its content and the BMF name, logo and designation marks belong to BMF or its licensors. You may not use them without permission, except to describe a designation you hold.

9. Availability and liability
We take reasonable care to keep the platform available, accurate and secure, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. To the extent permitted by law, including the Consumer Protection Act, BMF is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the platform.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes, and continued use of the platform means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
